History
Amerisips was founded in 2009 with a dedication to build a better quality house with an efficient process. Amerisips founder, Steve Bostic, has a history of innovative process improvements across a variety of industries during his career.
In the 1980s, Bostic founded and was the principal owner and Chairman of the American Photo Group (APG) that pioneered photo processing mini-labs across the United States. In 1987 APG was named the Number One company on the Inc. 500’s list of fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the United States for the prior five-year period. Shortly after, APG was acquired by Kodak.
Following his success in the film and photo processing industry, Bostic founded the holding company that owned and operated American InterContinental University with seven fully accredited universities with campuses in Atlanta, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale and Dubai. In 2001, he merged his holding in American InterContinental University into Career Education Corporation, Inc., which was the leading publicly traded university system in the United States.
In addition to success in building companies, Bostic was an active member of the Atlanta community: teaching an entrepreneurship class for graduate students at Emory University, serving on the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian College and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at Emory and Indiana University School of Business, serving as Board Chair of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and as a member of the Board of Directors of Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Steve Bostic and his wife Tina retired to begin a seven-year high seas exploration on their boat, Best N Show. They stopped in St. Simons Island and instantly fell in love with the area, purchased property and began building a home.
Once back on dry land, the Bostics did not stay in retirement for long. As they were building their dream home, they identified a void in the marketplace: there was not a single source for quality interior products. In 2006, Bostic opened Island Design & Architectural Center (IDAC) as a single resource center for interior lifestyle products including cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, appliances, flooring, tile & stone, lighting, furniture, accessories and fine art. With a world-class design team and a range of products to meet any budget, IDAC became the go-to source, particularly for clients managing their home building project from a remote location.
In 2009, Bostic completed the final piece of the puzzle "the building envelope" to create a comprehensive one-stop shop. Using the highest quality, most efficient building material available, Structural Insulated Panels, IDAC evolved into Amerisips. In early 2010, Amerisips opened its first Home Innovation Store in Brunswick, Georgia to serve the Coastal Southeast market. The Bostic's relocated to Charleston, S.C. in the summer of 2011 to be serve the growing market in the Southeast area. Customers can visit the Home Innovation Store for architecture, real estate, interior design and construction. Amerisips offers a hassle-free, streamlined process for every aspect of home building. |
