Structural Insulated Panels: A Proven Method
|
Structural insulated panels are not new. Visionary architect Frank Lloyd Wright pioneered a panel system beginning in the 1930s. In 1950, Alden B. Dow, an architectural student of Wright’s, experimented further with the panel system adding insulated cores.
Over the years, structural insulated panels have gained marketshare. In 2008, when the overall construction market suffered an unprecedented decline, the SIPs industry grew by one percent. As consumers become increasingly concerned about energy costs and environmental impact, they are beginning to investigate and demand better quality green products and systems.
