What makes Amerisips "Green"?

  • Amerisips utilizes the most efficient materials and processes
  • Amerisips saves energy, resources and provides a healthier home
  • Stringent third-party certifications are available

Green building is the practice of creating structures and utilizing processes that are environmentally responsible and resource efficient throughout a building’s life cycle. Buildings represent 39% of the United State’s primary energy use and the EPA estimates that 136 million tons of building-related construction and demolition debris was generated in the U.S. in a single year. Builders, homeowners and government officials realize that continuing at the same rate is not economically viable, efficient or environmentally sustainable.

As a result, the Green building movement is exploding. 138 cities have Green building programs and the demand for Green homes is expected to rise 900% over the next five years (from a $2 billion industry to over $200 billion). Studies show that homeowners are willing to pay 11-25% more for a green home. Green building not only increases the value of the structure,  but also decreases the utility expense, maximizes resources and minimizes environmental impact.

Amerisips structures are high performance and green. Green structures minimize the impact a building has on the natural environment through reduced energy consumption, material and resource conservation and protects the indoor air quality for its inhabitants.

Structural Insulated Panel Systems (SIPS) are the keystone of the Amerisips process. By building with SIPS, structures are highly insulated which reduces energy consumption by 50-70% compared to stick frame construction.

By starting with an improved building envelope, Amerisips homes qualify for the most recognizable and respected green building certification programs: U.S. Green Building Council LEED Certification, ENERGY STAR, National Association of Homebuilders Green Building Program and EPA Indoor airPLUS.
